We are extremely honoured to play a small part in remembering two forgotten RAF Pilots, Sergeants Jacques L Bonnewit and John Muncaster, who lost their lives when their plane crashed in a field in Bedfordshire almost exactly 77 years ago, on 24th February 1945.

The full story of the incident can be found here http://www.aircrewremembered.com/bonnewit-jacques.html

Memorial mason Richard Lee of G&R Lee Memorials, Flitwick, MK45 1NW http://www.leememorials.co.uk/, who lives next to the crash site, used Craig’s Gold Leaf to gild the remembrance plaque which was unveiled in November last year by HM Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Helen Nellis at The Rufus Centre in Flitwick.

Richard told us We have used your sample pot and have found it to be of excellent quality and coverage. We used it on a war memorial for two pilots of  the RAF lost during the war in our home village. It was unveiled by the Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire and other dignitaries who were all impressed by not only the memorial but the finish also. If you didn’t know it was liquid you would be hard pressed to tell the difference, we coated twice and managed a very good lustre, it is in an exposed spot facing the field in which they crashed”

Thank you for sharing this story with us Richard!
