We recently began exporting our products to Australia where temperatures of +45 degrees Celsius are common, and where most headstones stand in direct sunlight. Our solvent-based alkyd varnish system is a great formulation for UV/temperature stability. We have used the same resin system for radiator coatings, where temperatures can exceed 45 degrees and fluctuations in temperature are normal.

How can we be so confident about the performance of our entire Craig’s range of paints?

The speciality pigments in Craig’s formulations have been rigorously tested for fade due to heat and UV radiation and have been subjected to accelerated Xenon weathering tests according to SAE J2527 . This test method is designed to simulate extreme environmental conditions encountered outside, such as sunlight, heat, and moisture (in the form of humidity, condensation or rain). Additional natural weathering tests have been carried out in Florida where the sunshine , ultra violet rays and heat exposure are very aggressive. No colour change/fade has been experienced after 48 months of testing.

We therefore are confident that all of our Craig’s products will withstand the harshest of conditions,
throughout the year.
